"Fire damper - tested and safe!"

Upon closer inspection, the seemingly simple check of a fire damper according to the requirements of ÖNORM H6031 can reveal alarming results. It is common for fire dampers to be classified as “professionally inspected” even though they are either inaccessible or not functioning properly. In order to provide clarity and education, we would like to explain to our customers the full scope of our services required for a proper test of a fire damper in accordance with ÖNORM H6031.

The functional control of a fire damper includes various steps to ensure that the flap works properly
and can fulfill its protective function in the event of a fire.

Items checked include:

1. Close the flap at least three times (while present on site)
2. Proper/smooth opening and closing of the closure element (visual/acoustic assessment)
3. Electric remote release and opening of the flap via the central Fire alarm system, if technically possible
